These actions did not stop the protest. later on warrants were issued for the arrest of the leaders of the protest. 300 men went to Groton to arrest some of the leaders, one of the leaders who was captured was a man named Job Shattuck, who cut by a sword in the knee. the news reached the rebels in western Massachusetts, which made them angry, so they organized an overthrow of the state government.
